This Is Love

If I had a cookie
I’d be completely convinced
that God really loved me
in His eternal benevolence

if He granted me a cookie
I would drown it in milk
suck off all the good stuff
that goes down like pure silk

though chocolate is best
I’d take what I could find
just sate this wild craving
before I lose my bloody mind

I’ve searched high and low
in every cabinet and nook
every hidyhole I’d forgotten
don’t know where else I can look

Alas, there is no cookie
how can life be so cruel,
but if I had a cookie,
I’d share it with you.
