This Is Hawaii After All

enticing white and pink beaches
captivating vegetation, food for the gods
served at luau with unfathomable hospitality

aloha said by everyone
eye contact swiftly given
spirituality accessible to all, not just shaman

Oahu, Wai Khaki, and the big island
So many choices; why not see them all?
Scuba diving, swimming, fishing.

Who would stop you?
Learn the island’s histories.
Ruled by famous queens and kings.

Enjoy the flow.
Slow your heart down.
Rest, rejuvenate and renew.
This is Hawaii after all.

This lovely verse brought back memories of my stay there over forty years ago. Lovely place and people. We went on a yellow bus, in big letters on the side of it was THE BUS. The Mayor apparently had the words put on the bus for his young daughter. I thought that was so sweet and simple bringing a smile to peoples faces... Thank you For the memory Caren ...

Before I could even finish your poem, you had me binging on Hawaii, inspiring murder and dreams (reference to a couple poems) When I was there I wish I had the foresight to see Queen Liliuokalani’s crazy quilt! Will I ever make it back to paradise?!
