Notes About The Poem

This Heaven Is Mine

I love the smiling moon, in an equinox sky
It makes me think the cosmos is amused

At one such as I

Just before it sets, it's the wink of an eye
It's a hedge on the bets I've allowed to slip by

I can't really imagine it's not there for me

I doubt that anyone else is aware of the trick
I'm aware just myself, I'm the target of it

That's enough just to know, I don't need a sign
To be holding this thought, is to hold the divine
