This Heart

My love resides
within my heart.
A delicate,
Paper thing.

It gently glows,
Smouldering.
A the slightest
Provocation

It erupts into
Roaring flame,
Leaving me
Burnt, damaged.

I want you to
Have this small,
Fragile edifice
Of my love.

And together
Find a way
To nurture
Its frail light.
