"Fragments and crumbs of life, all the little pieces"
John Ruskin, 1853
Those little pieces, one by one
are moved in place throughout each day-
to start once more, aft night is done.
Resuming then, in the same way,
we shape life's puzzle- bring to light
those things accomplished- grand or slight-
put forth life's meaning into sight.
But, sometimes, pieces fail to fit
and jar the rest- to make us quit
until we rest, to then admit
this game of life- we cannot shun.
When pieces join in place to stay,
full span displayed- both dark and bright-
our finished life- to God, commit.
