This Feeling

This feeling, It’s like water.
But, not the still and peaceful kind.
Though, in moments it appears so,
It’s like the waves crashing between the sharp rocks.
The kind of deep ocean that swallows you whole.
The unforgiving tides and unkind of waters that drown souls.
The dark slumber of the unknown.
the uncertainty of rising shallows that steals;
That steals your heart with hearth and coal.
The overwhelmingly chilling deep and—
Unlike the soft fragile snow,
It’s piercing like the marrow in your bones
This feeling, is one that I don’t know
A storm in the meadows and a wrath like no other.
The floods that bring disparity
And dreams left bare to none yet seemingly so peaceful
‘Tis not just something felt, but understood.
