This Endless Summer Storm
As sluggish as my thoughts this stifling day,
soft raindrops fall, but soon they’re falling fast,
intensifying! Rain has come to stay!
The wind starts in; trees shake as if aghast.
As rain pounds down, debris goes flying past!
A tree’s branch on my window loudly taps.
For some short time, the onslaught stops at last.
But suddenly, the sky with thunder snaps!
Relief was but this endless summer storm’s mere lapse.
