This Earth
This earth we live in
The hills that roll in their slumbers
Valleys that open bellies of hospitality
With the green blankets of fauna
Covering their heads, bodies and toes
Insects and birds singing non-stop
In music festivals with no adjudicators,
Competing in Olympic Games without stadiums
Animals crawling day and night
Hunting without break with watering mouths
For their daily bread
Leaves of trees and grass whistling
And hugging each other in the roaming winds
Stars, moon and the Sun opening their searching eyes
To find out the wonder that is man’s home
Oceans dancing with sailors in stormy ball-rooms
Nature so beautiful, serene but challenging
This is the earth we live in
Though with contempt and cynicism
