This Day
Take to this day
As it's something new
Held innocently out
Especially for you
As the perfect gift
In what it has to give
All with the thought
Of live and let live
This day was born
On a ray of sunshine
Taken and torn
From the veil of the night
All in plain sight
So it's easy to find
This daily gift
This gift of delight
To share with those
Along the way
So they too may have
This day of all days
