This Celebration Rates
Gifts and greetings,
Boys and girls, tasty treats too;
Silver bells ring their knells;
Reindeer get new shoes.
Gingerbread, cherries red,
poinsettias in bloom.
Santa’s sled, of gold and red;
Hot cocoa perfumes rooms.
Mistletoe, lovers know,
Pleases lonely hearts;
Holly galore on the doors;
Colored lights dance to Christmas tunes.
Kids are fed, put to bed,
Awaiting old St. Nick;
Sugar plums and tons of nuts,
Will always be perfect.
Exhausted elves treat themselves,
To fruit cake and some milk.
Then they bed down during Santa’s rounds,
Beneath covers in PJ’s of silk.
Wondrous meals whose scent appeals
To family and friends;
colored paper in flight, reveals the light
of children’s smiles among the din.
No longer in a manger, babe He was, back when;
Star Sirius smiled his brightest smile when,
Jesus he ushered in.
