Thirsty Petals

Gentle rain kissed the flowers
as the radiant golden rays
touched the tender petals
renewing the delicate buds
drought had left them parched
the sun had baked then dry
they withered clinging with thirst
begging for a droplet of moisture
from the incoming clouds
the revival was immediate
they tasted the refreshment
and their thirst was satisfied
excited after the rain
they stretched out the petals
basking again in the sun's glow.

Looking out the window I suppose. probably plants you planted. But thinking of the fires haunting your country. I wonder if your close enough to see them?

Thanks for your comment and yes the garden is not doing well in the heat and little rain. No we are not close to the fires at all but the smoke on certain days is heavy in the air. Thanks for asking. love phyl

What a relaxing write to read as you sit in your garden with your laptop on your lap getting inspiration from various images that attract your attention. I love this Phyl - i love being in a beautiful garden with plants, bushes and trees all around me.have landscaped quite a few in my lifetime. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Hello Phyllis … lovely description indeed Phyllis. At this time we are having the opposite; wind, rain, floods, cold sent up from Antarctica - thank you Phyllis - Lindsay

Lindsay we are into a very dry spring and the moisture levels are way down. We need rain badly for all the plants. We always have the wind up here. Have a great week. love phyl
