Thinking About Us

Have you ever wondered,
that we wanted to be with each other so bad,
and it might not work,
we were afraid to try again?
Why are we letting fear dictate renewing a deep love,
never felt before, and never felt again?
Our gentle blue eyes, wondered how we could see so deep,
into each other's.
Revealing a descending stairway, to a doorway that opened,
the chambers of our hearts.
The doorway opened easily then, hinges greased by contact urgent to us both.
When opened, a love that was so deep it could only be a gift from God,
was revealed.
Over time, locks of distance and lack of freedom,
were installed on the door.
When we looked into a mirror into our own eyes,
the door could no longer be seen.
I know I have always wanted to be with you so bad,
since over the years,
a subtle pull remained on me, like the moon's on the tides.
A whisper in my ear, we belong together, you are the one.

Hello Randolph Byrd you wrote a beautiful poem. I reread it several times. Have a nice evening my friend.
