Things One Said and Done

The words they say pound into my brain Both becoming one The memories of things Once said and done All come rushing back She comes back to the world People laughing and talking As she sits alone Staring at the window The world goes rushing by She remembers the things Once said and done As the tears stream down her face She sat looking into the night sky Wondering why her? What did she do To deserve the things once said and done she remembered sticks and stones may break my bones but words shall not hurt me Broken bones will always heal but the memories of the hurtful words will stay forever Perhaps it may get better Over time But the scar of things Once said and done Will never fade away
