Thing of My Past

It is a thing of my past,
I wanted it to last.
I think it could have been meant to be,
but I didn't want to be a tree.
If he would have waited like two days,
we would have met each other and prayed.
I wanted it to last,
but I think now it is a thing of my past.
I wanted it to be meant to be,
but like I said, I didn't want to be a tree.
We could have prayed each day to make it work,
but I don't want to lurk.
I love him to death and always will,
but this has been harder to deal.
I would love to be just friends,
and if he wants to message me,
he's going to have to make the first move.
