They'Ve Written All My Songs
Every song like ‘Secret Love’
Or ‘Gentle On My Mind’
Say the things meant just for you
In words I could not find.
I’ve tried so hard to say just how
Two rights are never wrong.
But, every time, I always find
They’ve written all my songs.
I tried so many times
to put it into rhymes.
I want, so much, to tell the world
just where my heart belongs.
But, the words just pass me by –
So, I sit and wonder why –
With all the love I feel for you –
They’ve written all my songs.
Maybe love was never meant
to seek us out and find
a place that we can call our own
and leave the world behind.
My words can never say the things
that you’ve known all along.
So, my heart just cries when I realize
They’ve written all my songs.
I tried so many times
