They Told Me Slavery Could Never Happen To Me
and i believed
and i believed
i believe i could,
i could fly
be all in all
know the world
as if
it was my own
i believed in you
i believed i was blessed
deep down in my skin
the sweet color of scented dark caramel candy
with the color of dark sun sparkling brown made with hope of the new
i did believe in you
i did believe i could be everything
but wear (where) the "blackness" of love
must i scream louder for help
or must i wait in the grave
or must i just wait
till (until) the clock strikes not at all
so i want to believe again
let me believe again
i beg
i plead
let me have my black ticket
back again
so you can see
i am made good
i will stand clean
i will make you proud of me
just stand with me
and you will Believe
