They Say

They say if you want love
Your gonna have to walk thru the flame
They say if you want love
Your gonna have to stand in the rain
They say if you want love
Your gonna have to learn how to change....
They say that love is a deeper
Different kind of pain
They say the heart that loved and lost
Is the only heart to live
I say the heart that loved and lost
struggles to forgive

They say that true love-
Is a love that is blind
But I say a blind love
is lost all the time

They say too much
words are weapons of war
how can any love
be worth anything more
I’m looking for that love to
Make me feel homesick
That real love that make me wanna
Come home quick
The kind that makes me wanna say
Baby I do
It’s crazy how this feeling can overcome you
And make you do things
You wouldn’t normally do

The years can be so happy at first
But then comes the worst
The thing you love the most
Can turn into a curse
I’m now sitting at empty tables
Eating my dinners by myself
I’m sleeping in an empty bed
Wishing I was somewhere else

All the fighting and the feuding
Caused a division of hearts
Like shattered mirror glass
It all just fell apart

I give my love
But seem to get nothing in return
I give my trust and my loyalty
I’m always the first to get burned

I’m speaking a different language
And it falls upon deaf ears
I’m reaching out to find love
After 22 long cold years

They say if you want love
Your gonna have to love yourself first
Apparently that’s because
when Love is given

It’s no longer a gift but a curse...
