They Said
too young, they said-
such a shame.
so much going for her
then the baby came.
just a child herself.
now, she'll drop out,
go on welfare-
not knowing what
life's about.
she ruined her life
not using her head.
too young,
unfit to be a mother-
that's just what
they said.
