They Said

They said
If you want friendship
Don't tell him you like him,
Don't tell him you share
Only 'cause you care
You care what he thinks.
If you wanna hear his jokes
Don't tell him you miss him
You miss him too much to tell
Even though he'd never care.

I kept quiet
Hiding my feelings' riot
Thought it would pass,
It didn't.
I shut me down from him
Let my feelings drown
Somewhere deep down
Away from him
Thinking it would pass
It didn't.

My heart said
Tell him you like him
Not probably in love,
But you care to share
Whatever is there...

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.

Tell him. What's to lose from you giving him a wake up call?
