They Run With Good Intentions

They Run With Good Intentions
By Franklin Price

They run with good intentions
They would like you to believe
But they are politicians
Known to practice to deceive

Spend a lot of money
Some of it their very own
Want to represent us
So we never are alone

Make a lot of promises
Of the many things they'll do
If we vote and we elect them
That may last a day or two

They see what the establishment
Has done through time and age
Can't buck what they've accomplished
Even though it's all the rage

Getting very little done
From their place in government
Forget who voted for them
Believe they were heaven sent

The longer there the richer
Have to see how this can be
Maybe I should run for office
Think this is the place for me
