they fought

They Fought for Their Country They Fought to Make
It Free
But Where Did They End up Not the Place They Expected To Be
They Fought for Their Country with All Their Strength  And Might
But Where Did They End up Homeless and Living
On the Streets at Night
They Fought for Their Country for a Better Future
And Life
But Where Did They End up Leaving Behind
Their Families or Wife
They Fought for Their Country Cause Everyone
Relied on Them
But Where Did They End up Losing Not Only Their
Life but Their Best Friends
They Fought for Their Country Right up until the Bitter End
But Where Did They End up Those They Relied on Turned Their Backs on Them 
They Fought for Their Country So No More Can I Say
Except Better Respect and Understanding to All the Horror They Endured Each Day
