They Fooled Around

You were gone
They fooled around
Your feelings were hurt
When the truth you found
After all he had your heart
And you thought she was your best friend
They both knew this from the start
You tried to forgive
But you couldn’t forget
He was the first to come clean
Said what he did he regret
But that doesn’t make it hurt any less
Still with him you try and work things out
Trying to hide the fact it's still killing you inside
But you truly love him, there's no doubt
Willing to admit you've both made mistakes
Although two wrongs don't make a right
And you were betrayed in the worst of ways
Still for him you want to fight
Not ready to let go of what you two have
But with her you've cut all ties
Not because of what she did with him
But to your face still she tells nothing but lies
Tell me the truth and you will see
I'll find in me to let it all go
But whatever you do, don't lie to me
Cuz that right there is an all-time low
And now I can't get this out of my head
Watching him lay there fast asleep
I had to get out of bed
4:30am is the time
And lying in bed all I could think about
Was this rhyme
So here it is
Now you know just how I feel
Had to get it all out somehow
Maybe now I can find a way to heal
But for now I think that's enough
About this I've said all I can say
And writing about it was rough
But it was something I needed to do
Didn't know who else to turn to
So I decided I'll tell you
About how they fooled around!!
