They followed

He led them, and they followed
It was easy, lightly stepped
Not yet hollow, full of depth

A prophet with a promise not yet met
Of eternity, of love and affection
Yet something lies in his inflection

He speaks of grandure for the chosen
He surrounds them with like minds
Once immersed, a kind of frozen
Too far down to know you're fooled
Rabbit holes are full of pride

When you've let go of all you knew
Let go of all who knew you too
What else is left to follow
All the scarred way through

Shame is for the living
But regret is for the damned
He led them and they followed
It wasn't easy. Heavy stepped.
