They Called Him Juan
His name’s John, but they call him Juan.
Got gamblin’ in his veins.
Loves poker without the joker,
An’ plays cards when it rains.
It wet us all one day last Fall,
An' they came together.
She's dealin' draw, her charms he saw,
He loved rainy weather.
He said,” Honey, play for money,
I aim to do two things.
Take yor’ pot then all that you've got
Afore the rooster sings.”
She said,” Young hoss, count up your loss
After you’ve played awhile.
Once yor losin', stop abusin'–
See if you wear a smile.”
She had a chest under that vest,
Had two buttons open.
Eyes was roamin', beer was foamin',
Lookin’ there an’ hopin’.
He was peelin', she was dealin’
From bottom, top and middle.
Took his dues and IOU’s -
Didn’t leave a little
He arose as the rooster crows,
An’ gazed at all she had.
Kissed her lips and patted her hips
“One out of two ain’t bad.”
