(“Meditation is not what you think…”) These New Times These new times have turned the world upside down. The endless cultural revolutions of the past two centuries Have finally hit a wall, Trumped at last As the sheer accumulation Of madness has become impossible to ignore, And the people are finally really waking Beyond any act of being woke. It helps that the subtle lies Of a vague if supposedly well meaning idealism All hope and change, unicorns and rainbows, Have been exposed for what they are Just another ego trip Of those intent on gaining And maintaining their control. The radical Left once anti-establishment Grew up to become the establishment To push its status quo agenda on the rest of US With all the force of Big Government Combined with Big Business, a union That would make Mussolini and Hitler proud. The Left of course doesn’t see this Even as they desperately try to maintain The power that now slips away. They still see themselves as idealistic youths Raging against the Machine Sticking it to the Man When they have long since become The Man running the Machine. In other words, the Left constantly gaslights US Because they are gaslighting themselves. (2/23/25)
