There's Blood

A lovely young lady with a winning smile
She and friends; out on the town for a little while
Young friends checking out the scene; having fun
See and be seen; each hoping to meet a special someone
Across the room, stands a handsome lad
But as some lads are; this one is bad
This saucy lass has a wicked wit
She turns on her charms, flirts a bit
The gantlet is thrown; in this courtship dance
Young lad invites her to go for a ride; take a chance
Out in the country along a darkened route
Not a soul to hear her scream; nor hear her shout
He took much more than she was willing to give
Then takes her life with his long bladed shiv
Now there is blood by the side of the road where she lay
Another young beauty; ravaged; lo savaged
And simply thrown away
Depravity

Frank and moving - thanks for not turning away from the ugly realities of the world. It's good to be reminded.

I thank you for commenting on this write. I thought that I may be a bit graphic. I also wrote another along the same lines called "Lucinda". I invite you to view that also.
