There Will Come a Time
There came a time,
When you was a baby boy.
Nestled in the womb,
Through the dark, I knew your voice.
If we had ever gotten to meet,
I knew your warmth would’ve had charm.
I’ve dreamt of holding you, ‘til you fell asleep,
Within the confines of these arms.
I wanted to be blessed by your life,
But that dream did not come to pass.
Through that weakest moment in my life,
I had to grow up so fast.
So here I boldly am,
Missing that little reflection of me.
Walking the world abroad,
Thinking of you, hoping you’re thinking of me.
But there will come a time,
When we’ll get to laugh, play, and run.
And on that distant, verdant horizon,
I shall walk with you, my son.
