There Was a Time

There was a time
When I was young
Playing games, making jokes, laughing

There was a time
When my parents once cared
Before I grew up

There was a time
When the sun would shine
It seems lately darkness has overlapped my life

There was a time
When I was strong
Ask any man in Billow's County

But now I'm old
Not as strong as I used to be
They try to keep me locked away

There was a time when I was free
That unfortunate day
Leaving me only myself, locked away

Man, I hope its not like that. I'm only thirteen, and I'm counting on things to be better then they are now. I like the repetition in your work. Keep the poems coming, I like your style. ~Jen~

What a difference a few days make, Adam. Remember it gets sweeter as you go, so I am told. Lol, Sicerely Moses
