There She Lies Covered In Flies

I felt his spit land on me
It only took a sec
Some of it landed on my tongue and the rest spilled down my neck
What went down my throat was nasty
These germs that would stop me from breathing another day
I look down at my coffin and see my hands crossed together as though I'm about to pray
A couple stop by to look
Not a tear lurks in any of their eyes
They keep on moving forward
And leave me to rot with the bugs and the flies

That is wild, but I loved it.

Thank you. I love rhyming but I also love writing and reading lots of thrillers! So my first short story is definitely crime!
