There Is Too Much Time

there is only time
when all has become wasted
spent
old
there is only time
as the women leave
as the phone dies
as children laugh outside
as the cigarette fades away
there is only time
too much time
as the sun hangs lifeless
as the second hand moves
as the minute hand refuses to move
as another cigarette fades away
there is only time
and a man could cry
and a man could sleep
and a man could drink
and a man could die
but no
there is only time
too much time
and nothing to do
