There Is No Light

There is no light that shines as bright
as my autistic brother’s smile-
makes the hard times seem worthwhile,
makes our crazy world seem right.

There is no touch that means as much
as my dear baby brother’s cuddle-
everything’s less of a muddle,
everything’s in that tight clutch.

There is no word that’s better heard
than one from my little brother’s lips,
when he makes sense among the blips,
when we make sense of the absurd.

There is no day that seems okay
without a laugh from my kid brother-
I’d take him over another,
I’d take him though he’s this way.

That’s all I’ve got to say.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
