There Is a Star With My Name On It
Each night after dark I gaze up above
Seeing two dazzling stars almost bursting with love
These two iridescent exquisite cut diamonds
Their kaleidoscopic incandescence truly enlightens
Two glistening precious jewels twinkle in the sky
Two names shining brightly and as I wonder why
Both were taken far too soon
Both were loved up to the moon
My dearest darling ~ his soul went first
I truly thought my heart would burst
So deep in grief my soul immersed
Then my precious boy ~ my only one
So sudden
So unexpected
So wrong to go before his mum
They took a part of my grieving heart
Leaving such pain and sadness
At times I am feeling so alone
As I walk through my door to an empty home
Now seeing two stars way up high
Lighting up the dark night sky
I see their names
I feel their smiles
So far away ~ So many miles
There is a star with my name on it
For when my soul is beckoned home
My name emblazoned from afar
Will gently guide me to my star
At home at last in a starlit sky
My soul so full of joyous joy
for ‘tis me * my darling * and my precious boy *
