There Are Those
There are those
who would tell me
writing to You
is a waste of my time,
but they don't know You
the way I know You;
maybe they only fear You
if that, but never love You
the way that I love You.
I love You first thing
in the morning,
writing to You
in my journal
I love You
when I eat,
always thanking You
for the wonderful
provisions.
I love the music
that my friends sing to You
sometimes on the radio
sometimes in church
sometimes just on the run.
I love it
when You take care
of my loved ones,
when You answer my prayers
like only You can.
I love the poems and Psalms
that have been written to You
throughout all time.
I love Your love letter to me
to all of mankind
The Bible.
I love You
when I go to sleep
laying my weary head
on the pillow You provided for me;
even the pillowcase
was given to me
through charity.
