There are no heroes ……………only those who do what must be done. They wait in pre-dawn darkness ………………for an always late bus Find ways to make one more meal ………………….from yesterday’s leftovers Manage to stay one step ahead ………………..of everything Explain the unexplainable …………………to teary eyed children Long for the roots they left behind ……………….while nurturing those newly planted They weep in silence ………………..lest their children feel their angst Pray aloud …………that their children might share their hope They do what they must do ……………..for they know ………..there are no heroes.
