There are no goodbyes

Inspired by this time of year... It's not easy for everyone as millions of people are separated from their loved ones. For many, it's not by choice. If you are alone for Christmas, remember that you're not truly alone in spirit as we're connected through our souls. But, I accept this doesn't help with holiday loneliness.

There are no goodbyes

I was thinking about you today 
So far, far away; away from me 
What is it about this time of year 
That reminds us of our human needs?

Maybe it's because it's for children
A time of innocence and His birth
Maybe it's because it's for families 
A moment to share time, and love and mirth

The gift that's in the giving 
The love that's in the loving 
The life that's in the living 
The hope that's in our becoming 

Becoming better people 
Becoming closer to each other
Becoming peaceful and happy 
Becoming joyous and loving

And no matter how far apart
No matter the miles or tears 
We are connected by our souls 
And I will not give in to my fears 

I will look up at the stars and know
We are sharing a piece of the same sky
That vast expanse of the universe 
It reminds me that there are no goodbyes 

For we will always be together 
In spirit when not in mortal form
You are the love of my entire existence 
Throughout every single lifetime born
