There and Then Never At All
I hate this illusion...
suffocating likeness to perfection
heaves its sultry invite to my doorstep
luring sweetly with promise and intrigue
I follow blindly seeing the nothing
is something...
...anything at all
The mirage dissipates
leaving fools stand lonely
Scarlet red scorn glows
in desert white sand
and I hold myself in contempt
You fade
I stand
We fall
This dies....
Forced to recall moments
as masochistic jilted lovers do
Staring off as sad songs remind
burning holes in memories
extinguished with tears...awash with pain
You drown me apathetically
