Therapy

Thunder and lightening off in the distance. So I walk outside and smell the fragrant air. A slight drizzle gently taps my skin lovingly. It's not so heavy, so it's not too much to bear. The rain comes down harder and soaks my skin. I can clear my head when I walk in the rain. Nature is better than therapy any day for me. I find peace in what most would consider disdain. Never alone, I walk with my best friend. We find that silver lining in the cloud. Even when we are soaked from head to toe, and the thunder bellows out loud. No umbrella, and yet we smile and laugh. We find solace in what others seem to dread. Walking in a rainstorm, for us, brings comfort. It's not for exercise, it's to clear our heads.

Wow Aleera, what a fun picture you have painted here for your readers to grasp through their minds eye. I wished it was you and I playing out in the rain and getting soaked to the core. I remember as a child playing in the rain and riding car bumpers on the flooded streets. Thanks for propmpting such wonderful memories and the thoughts of playing in the rain. Another amazing poem by such a great writer... MPK
