Then Whammo

Some days it's just not a good idea To rise and get out of the sack Sure as hell things will take a wrong turn You'll wish you could turn the clock back After calamity numéro uno You think nothing else could go wrong Then WHAMMO! something gives you a jolt And you're back to square one before long Take heart, it happens to all of us You're probably thinking it's just you Surely been down that road more than once It's the sad part of life and so true The bottom line is to take it real slow Sure as hell tomorrow will be a better day After 77 years I've learned a few things So trust me and hear what I say! © Jack Ellison 2013

It's good to have you back here with us... hope the move is going as planned! Good poem... you show a lot of wisdom through life's greatest teacher: experience! I will point out a typo, however... should be "before long" not "belong long"... lol. Keep it up, my friend :)

sounds like you've been going through a rough time, but it's wonderful that you still have a sense of humor and are able to have that shine through in your poems. bravo!

Dragon is full of Whammo's and now I've got Casey, Joey, and their girlfriends running around for the summer... Not to mention other assorted animals and Trolls... I understand... But life is interesting.
