Then There Were Four
Once there were five
They triumphed the land of the living
Their fairy tale glowed
When the sun rose,
And the moon set
They were invincible
strong,
Benevolent.
And their song played on
For 27 years,
Maybe some more
Until one day,
The angel of death approached
She whispered
“Your time is near”
Suddenly chaos hit-
All was abrupt
It was hard to breathe for 3 years
It was hard to see the light
Hard to imagine the good
When we were fighting the evil
3 years gone strong,
And the five were a solid foundation
We found appreciation
In all the little things
And then, flash bang
A grenade came tumbling in-
And then one was gone
It was survival mode
The days became endless
Time became apparently useless
For it tricked our minds and hearts
Thinking it would get easier
And here we are 2 months later
In the same time we were when it exploded
Like the big bang
The four went on,
Hardly strong,
Barely hanging on-
Able to grab hold of one another
All the love held in
To give to number one
And I think that’s the great question
The bigger story we can’t see
I think maybe we needed some saving
Maybe the four couldn’t go on
Without an angel’s guidance
Maybe the four were meant to be together
And number one,
We’ll find her again passed the stars,
just all wait and see
