Then Rise

THEN RISE

When the plot you sowed
 you shall receive
the lies you told
so you shall cleave
What you thought you knew
 becomes naive
and you’re the one
who’s left deceived
When there’s nothing more
to hold or grieve
so you turn around
 to leave
THEN RISE

When what you see
ain’t what it seems
what you believe
deceives
just turn around
Rise above
what is conceived
the fight’s a farce
lie’s wicked weave
to appease false
and petty grieves
fight a foe
that’s make-believe
start a war
with no reprieve
turn around
AND RISE
above mortal eyes

Rise above the battleground
Rise above the lost be found
Crest upon the soul unbound
Soar up to the next sunrise
Recognize
who you can truly be
when the light burns away
life’s dead debris
turn around
AND RISE

When the life you create
has broken you down
and fate has you falling
further down
a twisted game of self-demise
the rules you wrote
you can’t revise
It all becomes a cruel, cheap disguise
haunts the bones when eulogized
suffocates the sound of battle cries
cause behind the smoke
there lies no prize
and all is lost
on the field of lies
so you turn around
to leave
THEN RISE

Rise above the battleground
Rise above the lost be found
Crest upon the soul unbound
Soar up to the next sunrise
Recognize
who you can truly be
when the light burns away
life’s dead debris
turn around
AND RISE
