Gershon Wolf Poet Rhyme

Their Son Went to Dartmouth, But --

  
     First year, I lived in Nelson Rockefeller’s room
        Next year, in that of Doctor Seuss

     Yet I never made a fortune
        Or wrote a children’s book

     My parents had to wonder 
        Where I learned to cook their goose

    This is 100% true:
      Dartmouth College is an elite 'Ivy Leage School',
      like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. 

      Freshman year, I lived in 401 Hitchcock, 'Nelly's room'
      Sophomore year - 105 Gile, 'Theodor Gisell's room'

      ... And I became an underpaid English teacher.  LOL.

Regina Elliott December 16, 2025 at 5:07 PM Intriguing penning, Gershon. Amazing story. I would never of had bravery to be a teacher, youth intimidate me. I think many teachers are sadly underpaid. I wasn’t in the military long, and was underpaid as a full-time cake decorator. I never had the Midas touch. Oh well, still have joys in life. Happy night of Chanukah!

I think I taught English instead of writing myself.....then the wear and tear of teaching came down on my creative soul. Retired early and never looked back. Yes, underpaid in $$
