Theater of Utter Charm Part 21

how the else you going to progress
if you don't Sherlock Holmes the mirror
look what we've become
men hunting each other
for sport money and babes
an insane ability to believe anything
and that's all there is to it
you notice these things do you
goes my neighborhood Gestapo man
my great hoped for metaphysical detonation
was just a tent peg in this circus of death
certainty can easily be manufactured
delusions always contain certainty
otherwise they would be recognized as delusions
our instinct for fairness
regaining control of the upper schools
I'm going to tell you right now
it's cool to analyze
so why is it becoming stylish to be stupid
one day it will become retro and quaint
well spray paint that on a blank wall
the evil breeders of half humans
from the scorching Planet Nuoc
are no longer teaching our children
now the transgressions are tallied
in one media alert after another
a touchy subject by any stretch
of the holy imagination
it's simply a matter of knowing what you face
if your eyeballs function you can trust yourself
to deliver the authentic goods
in a magic blending of science and whim
an angelic ability to see error and call it error
work I have no time for work
I do have time for things that matter
at some point you gotta admit
all is derived from perception
if your curiosity glands are properly functioning
we're not talking about training dogs
to woof the alphabet but rather
a roof over one's head for starters
a head over one's roof for finishers
the question is who is teachable
who wants to know the not obvious
yes the devil is in the details
how and why dance mysteriously
atop the wharves and quays of embarkation
where the new meets the old
with a fervor to be gone from here
an ineluctable chemical reaction
upon a knife edge of possibility
or is it equilibrium or is it art
so many of our inhabitants
yearn for a land drained of its treachery
a swamp that has been with us
so boringly for so boringly long
heard as a loud background hum
yet ignored wantonly even proudly
those questioning demons are yours to make
all the horror in the world cannot displace that
at least not until experienced eh
so how is superstition experienced
meanwhile useful data stream past
the checkpoint we are held up at
a destination that appears on no public map
check your surroundings is always good advice
beauty works to ensure our permanence
