Theater of Utter Charm Part 20
any fool can be a philosopher
and it's not that big a deal
to be an Oracle either
we all notice more than we let on
so much is kept from us
to lessen disruption is the scam
while time disrupts this moment into the next
everyone looks for a new level of competence
beauty must have something to do with it
which is what I've been meaning to say
all along independent of any mental state
begin with why not
is it a curious thing that wishes come true
but their needless embellishments are a circus
of optics and psychology and armor
spread before an imaginary audience
made up of fallen heroes
how they got there is a black mystery
something caught in my throat again
an idea looking for a home
you've all been hypnotized by an evil wizard
how evil you ask
I'll tell you he replied
you see he reminisced it's an old story
which requires some background
in the style of a script being pitched
to studio heads at Channel 666
in desperation but well calculated
running circles around wise men
while coupled to an extremely ill disciplined
and eruptive sense of play
yes that evil
so no stopping for a rest there
when the backdrop becomes tranquil
just because you don't notice things
doesn't mean that other people
don't notice things
interest is not seduction
if that's what you are worried about
so figure it all out for your self
sure ideas can get you in trouble
an appetite for trouble is not in the manuals
speaking of which they are much overrated
in a mirror game of who is the fairest
which factors can we choose
and which factors break bones
images captioned a thousand ways
it's an echo chamber of interpretation
about safety power intelligence
and the objectives which require them
you merely need a theory of your own ignorance
where every imperfection
need not be a dark omen
it's what we have to work with
gripping our sense of adequacy
in a scarcity game of epic measurement
not knowing what to do when the cameras roll
it should be obvious by now
that he is a harmless outcomes gladiator
with an underdog identity conflict
I'm joining the Church of Don't Hurt People
so send your tax deductible checks
to the Angel of Mirth
having power over another human
is a ballroom masquerade for
barked shins and flattened forehead
we too often use our logic
to defend our appetites against further logic
offensive sadistic micro management and
some times you just have to gamble
