Theater of Utter Charm Part 17

Part 17

a kitchen drawer filled with throwaway lines
taped across the raw spots
itching festering inquiries eh inspector
asking the unavoidable
if we know how we got here
there's a better chance to know
where the fated flatulence we are going
if beauty is misused is it still beauty
what you don't perceive you must infer
even with instrumentation all else is inferred
vulnerable to guess and scandal
ask yourself at any time
why am I thinking this
what allows it
what are its limits
shadows that are continents
basically the problem is what is existence
followed quickly by
what sort of mind could answer that question
followed quickly by
what would be the standards of satisfaction
followed quickly by
how has this question been phrased through history
followed quickly by
is that graph line pointing anywhere
followed quickly by
how far have we zoomed the lenses in
followed quickly by
can what's inside ever get out
try to look at consciousness
from anywhere outside of consciousness
should tell us something
yes truth is a weapon
those who don't use it don't want tomorrow
they just want to think they are tomorrowing
we are somebody's program about to reveal
the source code for all to see for the first time
hence the travail of our times
playing back narratives not of our choosing
fantasy composites even when original
might not be real or applicable
to anything but a synapse or secretion
so that I am cornered into thinking
that the originals are functioning
as omnipotent gods speaking directly to me
90% of the messages will be forebodings
you can set your watch by it
or criticisms by trapped inner clawing
and various predictable revenge mechanisms
they were boys going down steep hills
in their skate wagons careening and skidding
to the delight of a nation of hypochondriacs
quite willing to go into banzai mode
if their world had to face the music
and it did
hummingbird auguries in Tenochtitlan
when seers were eaters of souls
knowing my own
I'd wonder what kind of idiot gratification
that could consummate
he's going on a shopping spree tomorrow
at the Hangman's Mall
and I'll keep you up to date
as a victim of clairvoyance
invaded used violated x-rayed
a trip to the gallows every time
for what
requiring judgment
making observations that have validity
other than mere ownership
how the freaking fiddlers did that come about
talking with his future self possibly
