My first "attempt" at a HexSonnetta. NOT for the contest! Quite challenging, at least for me.
Lying on the hilltop
like moments in a dream,
the beauty so extreme,
when the blowing winds stop
I look through the treetop
and spy a monotreme.
Platypuses pass by
as wombats waddle through,
followed by kangaroo.
Emus could never fly
but they will always try
or wind up in a stew.
Strutting mist, slow and proud
animal shapes in clouds.
