My first "attempt" at a HexSonnetta.  NOT for the contest!  Quite challenging, at least for me.

Lying on the hilltop like moments in a dream, the beauty so extreme, when the blowing winds stop I look through the treetop and spy a monotreme. Platypuses pass by as wombats waddle through, followed by kangaroo. Emus could never fly but they will always try or wind up in a stew. Strutting mist, slow and proud animal shapes in clouds. 08/18/15

HEY, this is so cool to see a HEXSONNETTA!!! Glad it is not in my contest because as I was reading it, I thought, Hmmm, this form looks strangely familiar. And you GOT IT! well, the meter is a bit off, but the rhyme and the way you handled the theme are really great! This was a really CUTE one!

It is a surprisingly challenging form. It is very difficult for me to to find the correct meter that matches the rhyme pattern. Your samples were very good until I tryed one then I realized they are great. The meter is why I didn't enter it. I almost didn't post it but thought, what the heck let's see what kind of comments I get.

I think you meant to say what ISN'T your strength. Your poems are wonderful. Thanks for the visit, Jan. The form is more challenging then I thought it would be.
