The Yurp

stretching back in the cathedra
at the office or in the classroom,
after binging in the afternoon on
gas-producing foodstuffs,
with said digestive organ of said
animated being
enlarged &
bursting at the seams in
pants that had been chosen
not to be worn after such a meal,
so when the belt is loosened &
the top button unbuttoned,
out from the mouth comes a
particular squish of air that
can be recognized as both a
burp
(eructation)
&
a yawn
(gaping open mouth indicating
tired, weary, lack of care),
but no one knows which is
a more accurate
depiction,
so in unison
all who have witnessed it,
proclaim it a
“yurp!”
