The Young Man In Blue
Dealing the cards,
A woman once asked,
“Why are we here?
Our lives quickly pass.”
The table was quiet
For nobody knew
All speechlessly frozen,
Save a young boy in blue
He waited a moment,
And when no one spoke
He smiled and sighed
As the silence he broke,
“We’re here to laugh,
And we’re here to cry,
We’re here to learn
And to wonder ‘why’
We’re here to show others
The shapes of our hearts
To care and to share
We should love from the start
The little things make our lives worth the while
So remember them as you tred through the miles . . .
You see everyone, it matters not why we’re here
We’re given this life, full of magic and fear
So live in the moment,
Make the most of it all
Each man makes an impact,
No matter how small.”
The people were stunned
For his words were true
But how could he have known . . .
This young man in blue?
