The You Inside You
She hates to need
It feels so heavy
Another thing to carry
One more person to hurt her
Does not want to be loved
Burdened by dependence
Why can’t everything be still
Everyone needs so much of her
So little, less and less each day
Whittling her down to the quick
And so we sit, and we breathe
Not fixing, or explaining
Just be you, nothing more
You don’t need to be ‘on’
I see the you inside you
I love it, all of it, you're safe
