The You I Thought I Knew

you were amazing... everything I could possibly want
you made everything feel right, my days were sunny and warm
I remember feeling your breath as you slept on on my chest,
holding you tight as we rode out the storm, I miss that

you would come over just to be there, you were in love
we would talk on the phone for hours, of course that didn't last
but it was great... everything was great, we had so much fun
we used to hold hands just sitting on the couch, I miss that too

some days we would lay in bed all day, staring into each others eyes
some nights you would steal all the covers, you looked so comfortable
we talked about everything... good and bad, we worked it out.
you were the best... I miss... I miss the you I thought I knew
