The Years When I Was Young

The years when I was young
      Lasted but a season
And will not come back again.
      Those days though oft return
      In dim memories
Of summer days and gentle winds,
      In reveries
Of autumn leaves and autumn sounds,
Of a world under different skies
When I saw through different eyes.
And I can still, at times,
See that world as I saw it then.
And a door, for a moment, opens again.
